Worried about coal ventures worth over Rs 11,000 crore confronting delays, the Center has asked Coal India and NLC India Ltd to recognize the purposes for those and present a report, an authority said.
The issue came up amid an ongoing gathering to audit ventures worth Rs 35,000 crore when India is seeing critical measure of coal imports.
“At an ongoing gathering to audit coal ventures costing more than Rs 500 crore and three million tons, secretary Coal Sumanta Chaudhuri looked for special case report from Coal India Ltd (CIL) and NLC India and requesting that they recognize purposes for postponement,” a Coal Ministry official said.
The audit meeting secured 51 undertakings of Coal India Ltd – which represents more than 80 percent of the household dry-fuel creation – nine of NLCIL (earlier Neyveli Lignite Corporation) and two having a place with Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Out of these, 21 ventures are confronting excessive deferrals – 17 by CIL and four by NLCIL, the authority said.
Coal India’s postponed tasks incorporate Magadh Expansion, Karo, North Urimari and Rajrappa RCE. The deferred NLCIL ventures incorporate Pachwara South Coal Block, Talabira II and III Coal Block and Rajasthan Power Projects.
The defers come against the setting of coal request from power segment surpassing the supply in 2018. India has imported of more than 200 million tons of coal every year in the ongoing years.
