Oppo will launch a new mid-range smartphone in India today with an in-display camera called Oppo K1. The company originally launched the K1 in China last October and has a fingerprint scanner under the display.
The device is sold exclusively on Flipkart and is expected to have a starting price of about Rs. 17,000. The launch is scheduled today at 12 noon in New Delhi. Oppo K1 is expected to launch in red and blue color gradients.
The Oppo K1 features a 6.4-inch Full HD + display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. The company has succeeded due to the waterdrop design notch to achieve a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled to an Adreno 512 GPU.
The device comes with 4GB and 6GB of RAM along with 64 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 256 GB. It runs on Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and the company’s ColorOS 5.2 interface. All this is supported by a 3,600 mAh fixed battery.
The Oppo K1 has a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. On the front is a 25MP sensor for selfies.
