Lexus launched the new luxury SUV RX450hL in India on Thursday. Its ex-showroom price is 99 lakh rupees. Lexus RX450hL is the 7 seater version of the already existing Lexus RX450h in the Indian market. It has a hybrid engine with BS6 emission norms. The longer length and floating roof of the RX450hL give it a different look from the RX450h. Booking of this new premium SUV has started at the company’s dealership.
This new SUV from Lexus has a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which conforms to BS6 emission norms. Equipped with a self-charging hybrid system, this engine generates 308 bhp power and 335 Nm peak torque. It has 4 driving modes – Normal, Eco, Sport and EV. On EV mode, the SUV runs at low speeds on electric power.
The premium SUV gets a new touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This touchscreen comes with Lexus’ latest multimedia interface. The SUV has features like automatic climate control, tire pressure monitoring system, 15-speaker surround system, heads-up display, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats.
The RX450hL includes 10 airbags for safety, active cornering assist system, ABS, EBD, cruise control system and rear parking camera among other features.
This new SUV from Lexus has a great look. It has LED headlamps, LED turn indicators and large grille in L shape with DRL. In the market, it will compete with luxury vehicles like Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, BMW X7 and Range Rover Velar. However, in all these only the RX450hL is the only SUV that has a hybrid engine.
