Tata Motors recently announced its latest electric vehicle technology. Now the company has announced that in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2019-20, Tata Motors will launch its first electric car Tata Nexon EV. One of the biggest features of this electric car is the Ziptron powertrain technology used in it. The lithium-ion battery will be provided for power in this electric vehicle. This electric car will give a range of 300 Kms on the roads of India.
In simple language, once full charge, this car will run non-stop for 300 kilometers. Its battery pack will be liquid cooled, packed with a solid IP67 case. This will help in keeping the outer shell strong to protect critical electric vehicle components.
The battery management system (BMS) in the Ziptron powertrain has been designed in such a way that it can extend the battery life up to 8 years. During this time the performance consistency of the battery will remain. It is a permanent magnet AC motor that comes with regenerative braking. Its powertrain has a dedicated cooling circuit, which will help in giving better performance even in hot weather.
It is believed that Tata Motors can launch its first electric car Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market at a price of around 15 to 17 lakh rupees. As we said, the company may launch Nexon EV in the fourth quarter of FY2019-20. It is important to know here that Tata Motors is also preparing to launch its Altroz EV. The Ziptron powertrain is considered the future of Tata’s electric vehicle range. In such a situation, it is expected that the company can also offer its next-generation Tigor EV and upcoming Tiago EV.
